Description: Drosophila melanogaster blastoderm embryo, stage 5, stained for Lamin (purple, nuclear envelope), Vasa (green, germ cells), and Fushi tarazu (red, pair-rule gene), along with DAPI (cyan, DNA in all nuclei).Lateral view, anterior to the left, ventral down.Imaged on a Zeiss LSM 700 confocal by April Dinwiddie and Nipam Patel at the MBL Embryology course in 2009.Image processed using Volocity software.
