Description: The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is investing in a new safety program aimed at decreasing the number of center line crossover fatality crashes along two-lane rural highways. Center line rumble strips are rectangular raised areas of pavement that vibrate vehicle cabs, making a noise, that alerts drivers if they have crossed the center line. Similar to shoulder rumble strips, the department has awarded more than $2 million worth of projects in FFY 2017 to install these life-saving devices
